Telecommunications

Elite Electrical Services Ltd expanded its horizons further still during the early 90’s and moved into telecommunications. With the arrival of the mobile telephone came a need for expansive networks. Amongst these networks there was a need to establish base stations both in urban and rural areas. Elite Electrical Services Ltd were amongst the first contractors to supply electrical installation services for the major mobile companies. We have maintained a leading role as a preferred supplier for many of the companies that continue to enhance and develop their networks and systems.

We developed additional skills required for the industry and these have included the needs for Rope Access Technicians. Many of the jobs entail working on, or around, high structures such as multi-storey buildings and lattice towers and this brought about the need for climbers and abseilers that could gain access and develop working systems and platforms that allowed cables to be run externally in areas that Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP’s) such as cherry-pickers and scissor lifts were unable to reach. These highly unique skills are still being utilised today and have become invaluable to many of our customers. We have operatives trained to IRATA industry standards and these operatives are given refresher training at regular intervals (3yrs)

As with construction, we have helped develop, design, install and commission complete electrical systems for the communications industry with tasks ranging from the installation of additional items of equipment within equipment rooms to installation of multi-user power distribution systems.

Elite Electrical Services Ltd have also designed, installed, tested and maintained lightning protection systems for the communications industry. This includes simple Faraday cage systems through to exothermic welding and surge protection.

Elite Electrical Services also provide and install cable management including cable tray, cable ladder or basket, galvanized steel trunking or conduit.

This work has covered the entire British Isles with operatives working as far afield as Scotland, The Isle of Mann and south as far as Devon and Cornwall.
